What a hidden gem! We decided to try something new and I'm so glad we did. My hamburger was great and my husband loved the huge fish sandwich. We also got the Buckeye pretzel bites but they were almost gone before I got picture. They atmosphere was very cozy and the staff is very friendly. My only suggestion to management is to fix the bathroom.
This became one of my favorite restaurants! Small mom and pop place, waitresses are super nice, food is fantastic. This has become a Sunday tradition. I either go for breakfast or early lunch.
We stopped in for breakfast while passing through the area. We ordered the Wooden Barrel Favorite. The order was quickly served with a large portions and full of flavor. The eggs were delicious and perfectly cooked. The location is easy to find off of the highway, I-75. They have a bar atmosphere with plenty of seating. Our waitresses was very attentive. Overall we had an a good dinning experience.
Sorry I forgot to take pictures before we started eating . Great food! Really good garlic bread. I usually come for breakfast, but today I thought I’d check out dinner since they open till 8 on Fridays now. The fish and chicken tenders were fresh and cooked well. The salad came with crispy chicken so it didn’t cost extra and I appreciated that it came with a hard boiled egg. The salad also came with two pieces of garlic bread and it was amazing!!
I'm visiting the Cincinnati area for a few days and was looking for a local restaurant for lunch. The hotel recommended The Wooden Barrel, which was a 10 minute drive away. Although the parking lot and restaurant were full, I got a seat right away. There were lots of families here. I ordered the sausage and sauerkraut, which came with two sides and a dinner roll for 14.99. Portions were large, and the food was delicious. It was a homey atmosphere with good service. If you're going, check their hours online, because they're only open til 3pm on certain days of the week.
We had breakfast on our first time visit to the Wooden Barrel, and it was absolutely delicious! The staff is awesome and so nice and attentive. The food is so fresh and delightful! We were so glad we stopped there for our first time, and we will definitely be back! Try the Wooden Barrel, and you will not be disappointed.
My husband and I just ate here for lunch. We look for local spots in the areas we are going to be in (either for the day or for vacation). We were in the area for the day. I had a side salad and a BLT. My husband had a side salad and the Morning burger. Both were delicious! On this particular day they were super busy but we were able to get seated at the bar. Whatever ya'll are doing....keep up the great work!!
First time there and it was great. Just what you want from a "mom & pop" type restaurant. Service was kind and efficient. Food was right on: club sandwich, patty melt, and liver and onions. All three fresh and delicious. Will definitely go back.
